All About On-It.
The Calgary Regional Partnership (CRP)
Growth is good for the economy and brings with it advantages and challenges. In response to the proposed future growth of the Region, The Calgary Regional Partnership worked collaboratively with its municipal partners to develop a smart growth plan known as the Calgary Metropolitan Plan (CMP) that addressed the following key issues:
- Where will these additional new residents live?
- How will they move around?
- What jobs will they have?
- Will there be enough water?
On-It Regional Transit is just one part of CRP’s plan for the future of our growing communities.
On-It Regional Transit
Alberta is growing faster than ever. Currently, the region surrounding Calgary is home to more than 1 million people. By 2073, that number is expected reach 3 million. With that kind of growth, comes new problems: How will those 3 million people get from point A to point B?
The Calgary Regional Partnership (CRP) has developed a forward thinking solution. On-It will connect walkways and bike paths with bus routes and transit hubs, so those 3 million people can choose how they want to get to where they need to go.
On-It Regional Pilot Project
On-It Regional Transit, launched a commuter service in October 2016, as a two-year pilot project in Okotoks, Turner Valley, Black Diamond, High River and Calgary. For more details, visit our Commuter Service page.
