The Town of Cochrane and SOUTHLAND Transportation are excited to announce the integration of COLT with an enhanced On-It Regional Transit service between Cochrane and Calgary.

Service notice: Please note that the Cochrane to Brentwood Commuter will not be running from 4 to 7:30 pm on September 28-30 due to a driver shortage. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Service every weekday from Cochrane to Downtown Calgary & Brentwood LRT
This innovative public-private partnership will increase our local transit capacity and create a robust regional transit schedule that meets the needs of our communities. The regional service offers an easy and affordable option for people travelling between Cochrane and Calgary for work, school, shopping, and social activities.
CONNECT WITH COLT:
On-It customers can use their pass to ride COLT for FREE from 5:45 – 9:30 am and 3 – 8 pm. Passengers must verify their pass with the bus driver both their On-It and COLT trips.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Cochrane to Calgary: starting from Cochrane’s new transit and innovation hub, “The Station,” transit riders can connect to Calgary on the following routes:

  • The Station to Brentwood LRT Station/University of Calgary – 7 trips per weekday
  • The Station to Downtown Calgary – 4 trips per weekday

Calgary to Cochrane: arriving at The Station, transit riders can connect from Calgary on the following routes:

  • Brentwood LRT Station/University of Calgary to The Station – 7 trips per weekday
    • Brentwood LRT/University of Calgary to Cochrane commuters can board the bus at Stop 2 and disembark at Stop 3.
  • Downtown Calgary to The Station – 4 trips per weekday
    • Downtown Calgary to Cochrane commuters can board the bus from Stops 2-7 and disembark on Stop 8.

Note: Please book your COLT ride to arrive at the station 5 minutes in advance of your scheduled departure. Local COLT connections can be booked up to 30 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time.

On-It tickets are valid for COLT services, on same-day travel during regional service hours when connecting to/from an On-It bus. Please present your On-It ticket (printed or electronic) to the COLT operator on the bus to be able to transfer over.

To celebrate this exciting new local/regional service integration, On-It Regional Transit will be free for the first three days of service.

How do I purchase a ticket?
Tickets for the service can be purchased through On-It’s booking website.

If you require to get anywhere in Cochrane except for the Station, your trip can be booked using COLT’s booking website or by downloading the Ride COLT app on the App Store or Google Play.

On-It customers can use their pass to ride COLT from 5:45 – 9:30 am and 3 – 8 pm. Passengers must verify their pass with the bus driver both their On-It and COLT trips.

What times can I ride the service?
Schedules for both the Cochrane to/from Downtown Calgary and the Cochrane to/from Brentwood LRT /the University of Calgary can be found here. The service operates Monday to Friday (excluding holidays) with 11 trips between Cochrane and Calgary per day.
